Training for emergency response

Training for emergency response

Nov 17, 2023

This week, we trained our employees how to cope with emergency situations, protect their own safety, but also help others, and put their lives first.

If someone is choking on smoke, it's important to act quickly and provide them with first aid. Here are the steps to take to help someone who is choking on smoke:

Stay calm and reassure the person who is choking.

Encourage them to cough to try to clear their airway.

If they are unable to cough, or if their breathing becomes labored, perform the Heimlich maneuver. Stand behind the person and wrap your arms around their waist. Make a fist with one hand and place it just above their belly button. Grasp your fist with your other hand and give quick, upward thrusts to the abdomen to help dislodge the smoke.

If the person becomes unconscious, lay them on their back and perform CPR. Tilt their head back, lift their chin, and give two rescue breaths. Then, give 30 chest compressions followed by two more rescue breaths. Continue this cycle until help arrives.

Call for emergency medical assistance immediately.

confidently when providing first aid to someone who is choking on smoke. By following these steps, you can help to clear their airway and potentially save their life. Remember to stay calm and focused, and seek professional medical help as soon as possible.
